Natsu Matsuri 2026 Success!

We want to thank our volunteers, performers, vendors, and our attendees.

We really could not have done it with out you!

Despite the heat, about 1800 attendees showed up and with their incredible support, we raised $18,735.22 revenue! All proceeds will go directly to future Japanese Community events and to improve our annual Natsu Matsuri KC. Yukari KC will continue creating spaces for the Japanese community and beyond!

猛暑にも関わらず約1800名の方々にご来場いただき、縁ＫＣ一同心から感謝いたします。素晴らしいボランティア、ベンダー、パフォーマーの方々のおかげで夏祭りは大成功のうちに終えることができました。

At Hella Good Deeds, we celebrate the Mid-Autumn Moon by taking care of our bodies. In addition to lanterns and mooncakes, you can receive free wellness services including flu shots, health, dental, + vision screening, and more!

NEVER AFTER DARK Premier!

Hello Yukari KC Community, My name is Dave Boyle, and I’m the writer/director of NEVER AFTER DARK, a Japanese-language supernatural thriller starring Moeka Hoshi (SHOGUN), Kento Kaku (HOUSE OF NINJAS), Kurumi Inagaki, and Tae Kimura.

The film opens October 9 at AMC Town Center 20 in Leawood. I came across Yukari KC and wanted to reach out personally as I thought you might love to see a Japanese language film on the big screen. 

The film was produced and shot in Japan through Signal181, a collaboration between Japanese, American, and Japanese American producers. It has won awards at film festivals around the world, and Stephen King called it “Amazing and haunting.”

We’re a small independent film, so I’ve been reaching out personally in the cities where it’s playing. If it seems like something your community might enjoy, I’d be very grateful if you could share the screening information.

はじめまして。Dave Boyleと申します。映画『NEVER AFTER DARK』の脚本・監督を務めました。

『NEVER AFTER DARK』は、Moeka Hoshi（『SHOGUN 将軍』）、Kento Kaku（『忍びの家 House of Ninjas』）、Kurumi Inagaki、Tae Kimuraが出演する、日本語で制作されたスーパーナチュラル・スリラーです。

本作は10月9日より、LeawoodのAMC Town Center 20で上映されます。

Yukari KCのことを知り、ぜひ直接お伝えしたいと思い、ご連絡しました。日本語の映画を大きなスクリーンで観る機会を、皆さまにも楽しんでいただけるのではないかと思っています。

本作は、日本・アメリカ・日系アメリカ人のプロデューサーによる共同プロジェクト「Signal181」を通じて、日本で制作・撮影されました。世界各地の映画祭で数々の賞を受賞しており、作家のStephen Kingからは「Amazing and haunting（素晴らしく、そして心に残る作品）」と評されています。

私たちは小規模なインディペンデント映画のチームのため、上映される各都市で、こうして直接コミュニティの皆さまにご連絡しています。もしYukari KCの皆さまにも楽しんでいただけそうな作品だと思っていただけましたら、上映情報をコミュニティの皆さまにシェアしていただけると大変ありがたく思います。
